Tech Questions

Do you want to know anythign tech related? Is your laptop running like crap? Do you want to know anything at all, hints, tips, how to block tracking cookies etc? Ask away here

Edit: If you do have a tech problem the more info you can provide the better. Such as what you were doing when problem happened, what problem did, if it happened more than once. Things like that.

I got one for you for a test run.

Why would a game at 720p or 1080p resolution load the CPU more than 1440p or 4K?

I would take a wild guess on the way they divide up what processing power is sent to the cpu over the gpu. In games you can utilise the GPU for processing power as it tends to have far more cores than a CPU, so if they anticipate higher usage they've optimised the GPU to handle more than CPU.

Though research tells me it's due to having lower frame rates at higher resolutions. The more frames per second the more the CPU needs to work because it's being told to refresh more, so essentially being told to do more work.
