Generalised anxiety disorder

I worry about all sorts and tend to have ‘worry pots.’ It’s a bit like a game of whack - a - mole. I just wanted to post to ask if anyone thinks that this can be cured?

I tend to have periods of remission followed by another worry cycle. I know that some anxiety is good for us so I’ll never get rid of it completely. It can probably be managed but personally, I doubt I’ll ever be ‘cured.’

I think you've hit the nail on the head already in what you've said in your response there. That is can be managed rather than cured.

I guess, perhaps there is at least a part of me that doesn’t want to let go of it. It’s all I have ever known.

Are you getting any professional support?

Do you think it might be something worth considering?

Yes. I’m actually in coaching but I never thought of that.

I think it'd likely be worth looking into. There's a lot of different methods for learning how to manage anxiety, and many people find at least some success at being able to manage better. I totally understand how debilitating anxiety can be, but there is hope, even if it never goes away entirely.
