Using up old ingredients

Post by Frisk »

Hi! I thought a thread where people could post what ingredients they have and others could suggest what to use them for could be both fun and a way of saving money.
So, for example, currently, I have a bunch of cous-cous, what can I do with it?

Great plan Ash!

Lemon and parsley cous-cous is lovely with whatever you tend to eat your cous cous with.

I like it as a side with some chicken and salad or with a bunch of veg thrown in to use it up.

Current item I have and don't know how to use: A fruit and nut mix
Mostly nut, and I don't like nomming on this kind of nut on it's own (a lot of whole almonds, I think, or something of the like).
What can I make with it?

Chcocolate bars? Or you could make energy balls, I think you use dates, cocoa powder & coconut, but there are probably different recipes for them. Or mix in with cereal. Or maybe some sort of cake

Ah this thread has reminded me of an app called Supercook that I was recommended recently. It might be quite helpful for people at the moment:

https://www.supercook.com/

List the ingredients you have in the kitchen and the app will find recipes for you.

That's awesome! Thanks NP. Might have to try out some new recipes. Especially with my solid food choices not being so easy to get right now. Fussy Zoe will need help :P
